Pew Rural Early Education Initiative - The Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute is conducting research on understanding and improving how different early education opportunities available in rural areas impact the academic achievement of African American students. The Pew Rural Early Education Initiative (PREEI) will examine the unique aspects of rural early educational opportunities both formal (e.g., preschool) and informal (e.g., parental, Sabbath School) on educational attainment by investigating the educational and social forces within these communities.
The McBay Faculty Research Program is open to faculty of UNCF member institutions to support research in a field of the recipient’s choosing. The McBay program is conducted in collaboration with UNCF Scholarships and Grants Administration.
The Patterson Summer Research Fellows Program (PSRFP) is designed to train and develop researchers in the investigation of educational issues pertinent to African Americans. PSRFP is open to all individuals who are currently pursuing a Masters and/or PhD in educational-related fields. The Patterson Fellows are housed at the Patterson headquarters and receive a stipend. Work products are due at the end of the summer.
